Overview

The primary upstream development is done in the master branch. Currently it contains 10.4 source code and will be released initially as 10.4.0 tarball and 10.4.0-1 Fedora package. After the release, it will be used for 10.5 development.

Master Branch

Primary development should be done in the master branch.

Maintenance Branch

The maintenance branch is created to fix source code issues found after the initial release.

There is only one active maintenance branch for each major version. For example, for PKI 10 the development will happen in master (10.5), the 10.4 branch will be maintained, but 10.3 branches will no longer be maintained. For PKI 9 there is no active development, but 9.0 branch will be maintained.

Fedora Packaging Branch

The Fedora packaging branch is only created to fix Fedora packaging issues found after the initial release.

  • f27 This branch contains pki-core-10.4.8-3.
  • f26 This branch contains pki-core-10.4.0-1.
  • f25 This branch contains pki-core-10.4.0-1.

The packaging for other distributions (RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu) are maintained separately outside the upstream PKI repository. The Fedora packaging itself might eventually be moved to a separate repository (see Ticket #1342: Distribution-less releases).
